Sounds like an organizational problem if the work was done instead of a "interest" problem.

My son had that issue also.

I recommend spending some time each morning and night helping him get organized. After a week or so, have him take back over and remove yourself from the process again.

Also, make sure if he isn't self-correcting that you are withholding tv, electronics and other distractions.
