@steembasicincome is a project which will reward you over time based on the number of SBI shares you have. Basically, your posts will be upvoted by SBI if you have some SBI shares. The more shares you have, the larger the upvote. For example,
For this post, I got a 0.17 worth of upvote. By sending 5 STEEM to @steembasicincome with your name, you get 5 SBI shares. So you already have the gift, and there is no further action required from you. SBI will take some time (usually 2-3 days) to register your share and you can check how many shares you have here. Basically, it is a way to reward Steemians and encourage long term involvement on Steemit.
