Steem Ocean UPDATE - New Voter Rankings & Find Out Which Category Voters Supported The Most!
I'm steadily working my way through the list of new features to add to the Stat tracking at Steam Ocean... In addition to some improvements behind the scenes to the indexing process, I've added support for showing the top category for each voter and also changed the weightings used to calculate the voter ranks.
For those who are unaware, Steem Ocean is a new site that provides stats for the Steem Blockchain that are not available elsewhere. Not only does Steem Ocean provide a unique voter ranking system that puts all active blockchain posters into a rank table based on their willingness to upvote others, plus their overall vote payout for the indexing period - it also allows access to the specific payout valuation for each vote.. Pretty cool!
This means you can now see who votes for what and how much their votes are worth - plus new data is being added regularly to make the tools more useful too.
Today's update allows us to learn which category each voter has upvoted the most times during the indexing period and also see the main category of every comment that has been upvoted by every user. This will help you to easily find people who may want to support your work on Steemit! I'll be expanding support for category/tag data soon too so that every active category has an activity breakdown for it that goes far beyond the data that's available in steemit.com.
The New Ranking Table
I've included here the top 100 users from the voter current ranking table, but the full version on Steem Ocean now includes the top 1000, plus you can manually search for any user that voted during the 1 week voting period too.
The balance of the new weighting system settings means that the total value of the votes is once again given a greater relevance to the final ranking. This was done because I realised that the system could quite easily be gamed just by autovoting a large number of accounts with tiny votes - pushing anyone who did this straight to the top of the rank. While that might be considered a generous act in some senses, it might not actually be of value to the community if the actual value of the votes is negligible. Currently, a better balance has been found that means that it is still possible to get to the top of the ranks without being a mega whale (the user @demo is in the top 20 with a total vote value of less than 3SBD) - however, vote valuation now effects things enough to make sure that bigger upvotes mean noticeably higher rankings.

Great, thanks for the support here. There is a small fix needed in the algorithms because currently the payout value calculations are slightly different in some way between the main vote rank table and the individual voter breakdown page (yours is here). Essentially though, yes, your total vote payout for the 1 week period is around $5300 SBD! Quite a nice 'job' to have to do each week, like father christmas! haha.
The figure is calculated based on my own algorithm that analyses the votes and counts the totals since the actual payout value for each vote is not actually stored in the blockchain anywhere. There may possibly be some minor bugs in it that need to be fixed, but I think it's fairly accurate. Maybe you can look through your list of upvotes and see if any stand out as being incorrect.. You can click the 'Vote Value' column on the right side of the table to sort the results by value. :)
