Steem Monsters – Monsters that Any New Player Should Have (by faction) - Part2steemCreated with Sketch.

This is a continuation of my previous post, where I presented the first 3 Splinters. I'm choosing a couple of cards from each Splinter, cards that I think any new player should strive to get and upgrade, as they are likely to be played in every lineup, regardless of the battle mode.

So here are the other 3 Splinters, with their chosen cards:

Same situation like the Red Splinter from my previous article. Various combinations do well. Angel is ideal, but it's hard to get. Air Elemental is desired. Similar with Fire Demon, it proves a strong, hard ranged hitter, and its speed of 6 makes it an ideal last position, being pretty easy to miss. Otherwise just make sure you have Divine Healer – a tank heal for 3 mana always makes it a good value card in any deck (unless monster abilities are off lol).

Haunted_Spirit.png Undead_Priest.png Twisted_Jester.png

Death has an absolutely stellar lineup when it comes to its rare monters.

Haunted Spirit. It is the most imba tank at level 1. 7hp with heal means it will take forever to take him down with the meager 1 or 2 points of damage that your enemies will end up doing after applying the Zintar-Priest combo. Speaking of which....
Undead Priest. Double your debuff potential. Weaken is good enough on its own, but coupled with the summoner's ability it will mean -2 dmg for melee enemies. And 2 damage is a HUGE deal at low levels.
Twisted Jester. 2 dmg and 4 health at lvl 1 make it the ultimate last position sniper. Sturdy and hurty, this is the first ranged monster you'll want to add to your Death lineup.

Peaceful_Giant.png

Peaceful Giant is good as first or second tank. (check my article describing his usefulness) Not always usable, but in higher mana battles it does give you that breathing space to take down the opponent's monsters with your ranged attacks.
Pixie is nice having magic damage, but at level 1 she's just too weak, so she doesn't make the cut.

I'll skip the Dragon Splinter, because I don't think a new player will get his hands on those, unless it's about massive luck or a targeted investment. Obviously, any Dragon would be the jewel of your team. Selenia Sky isn't the most expensive card on the market for nothing.
OK, I'll wrap it up here. These are the cards that I think you'll use in most of your decks while climbing up the ranks. However, once at the cusp of Bronze-Silver ratings, things change a bit, and Epic/Legendaries become more and more needed. That being said, most of the cards mentioned here still fare pretty well, and may be used in higher brackets too.

Happy Battling!
