Steem Monsters Beta Index and My Thoughts 1-27-2019

Wow, what a great set of reward cards tonight with 1 epic, 4 rare and 5 common. Very happy!!!

.............................

In the last post I listed the main 5 strategies:

#1 Buy and hold

#2 Daily quest reward cards

#3 Buy/Sell

#4 Tournaments

#5 Combination of all

So today let's talk about the easiest strategy of buy and hold. As the name implies you buy and hold, sounds easy doesn't it. Well, it's not - if it was everyone would be doing it and we'd all be Steem millionaires.

The key to this strategy is buy low and hold a long time. I will assume your also playing the game which will make sure you are holding (can't play without cards). As you can see the market has been trending down, albeit slowly, so is it time to increase you holdings?

Summoners are trending steady to up and if your looking at a long term hold you want to get these cards sooner than later. I wouldn't bet the farm as they may drop in the future (they could also skyrocket). The summoners are always a good bet cause the higher their level the higher level your fighting cards can be. The most obvious benefit of higher level fighting cards is that you can reach higher season levels where you can get more reward cards.

Buying the regular cards is a little more challenging once you get above the rares. This can be a whole series in itself. As I do not know everyones risk tolerance or bankrolls it hard to give much help. Just take your time and research the cards, buy what you feel will be highly playable in the future and you should do ok.

Even with this strategy it's always recommended to sell off a few cards every now and then and lock in some of the gains. If your buying packs the best choice is epic/legendary gold cards. If your not buying packs then reward cards are your only choice, again the epic/legendary cards either gold or regular is your best bet to sell.

Good luck!

Each rarity level has their own index score and is calculated by taking the current value of all cards in the rarity level and dividing it by the total value of the rarity level on Jan 17th, 2019. The result is the percentage change of the rarity level from the index inception point.

Beta commons index 91.43 big drop the last 2 days thankfully it's commons

Beta rare index 106.18 steady with summons leading the way

Beta epic index 91.80 prices trending down

Beta legendary index 89.97 prices trending down

Beta Booster packs remaining 504,987

PREDICTION: Number of packs available on Jan. 31st will be 505,985. We smashed that prediction, not surprised though as the Steem Monsters community is very passionate about the game.

My Steem Monstesr stats

Number of cards: 426 - Alpha: 0 - Beta: 144 - Promo: 0
Common: 311, Rare: 77, Epic: 34, Legendary: 4
Gold cards: 34 ## BCX: 1533 ## Value: $ 268.78

My total cards were up 11 but the overall value was down about $2.00 due to the overall market being down slightly.
