As far as I know, one needs to at least purchase the starter pack first in order to 'participate in ranked matches' and thus will be able to claim rewards from daily quests and season rewards.

So one really has no choice but to buy first the starter pack. :)

    Damn... Maybe when steem price goes up then, im holding and investing on bots =P
