It's just like any other card just needs to be used correctly
Yeah Yaba's team would have won against other teams but he was just overpowered by dave's team.

They are based on an ability or a speed differential (faster cards can make a slower card miss... but not magic)
It was not random skeleton has that ability

There are so many considerations.

It's probably for the best that when I start playing I'll only have basic cards. Trying to work out all the possibilities would be mind boggling. 😁
