What Does This Mean?
There is a distinct possibility that I was the first civilian on the Steem blockchain to receive a legendary card drop. If this can be verified, that legendary card which is still in my collection is a first strike of the highest quality. I plan to keep it out of circulation in a climate controlled environment. It will not be combined or leveled up for fear of tarnishing the pristine image.
How Is This Possible?
On May 20, 2018, I was an audience member in the Minnow Mayor Town Hall on MSP-Waves Radio when @aggroed announced his soft launch for Steem Monsters. I purchased my starter pack right away and then a booster pack shortly after, while @aggroed was still on air. The fourth card of my first booster back was the "Legendary" Elemental Phoenix. This is what the card looked like on the night of the purchase. Although this design has slightly changed with the release of gold foil cards, you can see the proof like quality of the first legendary ever struck from new dies!

Drop Rate
My drop rate when I received the first legendary was 25%. I guess you have to chalk it up to beginners luck because things have gotten a little harder since then. But at the same time, with the introduction of gold foils, there is a new level of excitement with every pack opened.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're actually the second legendary on the blockchain.
The first was UID C-1Q1NQC3KW0 which you can see in this transaction with timestamp 2018-05-21 02:58:15 and your card came through in this transaction at 2018-05-21 03:04:45 a few minutes later.
Still though, pretty awesome you were there right at the start and you do have the first Elemental Phoenix!
