Last week I was able to place second on the contest! I'm very glad to get second but I definitely want to get a 1st place in at least one of these, I want to leave a little bit of my writing in the steem monsters card lures. I had little to no time to prep for this week's contest but I think I have a good story, just need to work on my writing!
Today I bring you the story behind:

Gleitar Sharparrow the last centaur

Sharparrow grew up in a nomad centaur tribe, the tribe was quite small and they were the only centaurs in the world as far as they knew. The centaurs have been around for centuries, they never get involved in wars and if their caught in the middle of one they would just pick up camp and move to a new area where their existence would not be threatened.

They were peaceful but not defenseless, centaurs were formidable warriors, not only the male centaurs, female centaurs were just as strong as a male.

Sharparrow as one of the tribes best hunters, often he went on hunting trips far away to get meat for the tribe. Usually before the winter he started stacking up some meat to last them through the winter.

One day Sharparrow was coming back from one his hunting trips when suddenly he realized something was off! There was a strange scent that grew stronger the closer he got to the tribe's camping site. He decided to approach careful and as stealthy as he could! When he finally approach enough to see what happened... A knot tied in his troth, his tribe was attacked by a horde of undead! He saw a lot of centaurs lying dead in the ground and a few of them were capture and were being executed before his own eyes.

Sharparrow pulled is bow and was ready to aim his arrow to the executioner's head, when suddenly hearth two spineback wolfs taking off running in his direction! He immediately lowered his bow and took of running!

Sipneback wolfs were the perfect centaur killing machines, they were the few creatures that could outrun a centaur and their short structure made it very hard for a centaur to hit them while they take a bites at the centaur legs.
Knowing he had to chance of escaping the wolfs Shaparrow turned back, armed is bow with an arrow and aimed at the wolf that was running ahead. Let go of his bows string and... Powww, bulls-eye right in the first wolfs head.

He dropped dead on the spot making the second wolf trip over him and loose enough time to allow the centaur to pull out his long sword and pierce the wolfs chest before he could get up. The dog gave a last loud cry and then complete silence.

The centaur spent the next months trying to find any survivors! Maybe someone from his tribe was able to escape. But no luck, he was a very experienced tracker but he wasn't able to find any signs that any of his friends made it. He lost all hope and accepted the harsh reality that he was the only centaur left in world!

He became a mercenary and fought many battles for the Fire, Water and other factions, all of them against the dead. He dedicated his life to fight alongside anyone who was willing to pay and slay some undead! He became famous around the world for being the last of his kind and because of his fantastic marksman abilities! Legend said that he was able to shoot a nut out of a squirrels paws...

It was kind of a short one but I thing the story is quite interesting!
