Steemmonsters: Reward Cards
The last Steem monster season just ended, and again a whole new play was knocking on our door again. I am baffled by the amount of changes that the devs of Steemmonsters manage to make every couple of weeks
New rules, new cards, hardly any errors, new gameplay. It is truly an innovative squad that is behind Steemmonsters and that deserves loads of recognition. KUDOS!
My last season which ended on Monday I managed to fight myself to Silver level which gave me a shiny 20 cards. Honestly there was nothing super special in there, but is was ofcourse super nice to level up some stuff that might come in handy. Getting around 1000 is clearly the max that my deck is able to get, in the silver leage is was slashed faster than my eyes were able to blink!
New season, new rules
Well the rules changed again with getting 'only' one card rewarded on the daily quests in this season, but again it are new cards with new abilities. Talk about keeping it fresh! I haven't encoutered players as yet with these 'new' cards as yet, but it is always cool to see what these cards actually do while being in the game.
Also I am wondering what happens after this season if the market will be flooded with these kinds of cards, or are they just used only in these daily quests. We shall see!

Only one card rewarded for daily quests? Did that happen in the past couple of days? That’s how long it’s been since I played and I got a full pack from my first quest of season 3
Yeah that happend since the start of this season indeed. I find it a pity but it is ofcourse very understandable for not letting the market get too flooded
People have been really tied to the game for the daily packs, which has been an awesome incentive and also good for the scarcity given that people have been leveling up and progressing. Higher level cards mean a whole bunch of irreversible supply cuts from the ecosystem. Just fyi, I just completed a daily quest and received a pack of their new rewards cards, which I think of as a a "sub-beta", supplementary set of cards, as opposed to just a single card. When I read your response, I definitely was worried about the lack of incentive for users to play given just single card rewards... phew. Looks like packs are still being dealt, just with a different style, which in my book (from a MtG standpoint, tbh), is not only awesome, but exactly what we need. Ownership of rare digital assets that ultimately come out in "expansions" that are fun to play in game, but also have the qualities of impermanence and scarcity required to create a market that can pique the interest of gamers and investors alike, is a dream come true. I hope the SM team sticks with distributing daily packs (of which we still have 545,185 to dole out in beta, at the time of writing this), and continues to impress people with the development, balance, and intelligence of the SteemMonsters TCG.
I think from a business perspective kind of way that they are making really smart moves hoenstly, with keeping it fresh and renewing every time.. A lot of projects could learn something from that.
Honestly I think it is brilliant to level up a card and burn them out of the system (even though I hate playing against them :D)
