I've always confessed to being an ideas machine and exercise my idea muscle on a daily basis, so when I wake with an idea brewing in my head I just need to get it out to make room for new ones.

So today I'll share my thoughts on a new interactive Steem Monsters Game called

Steem Monsters IRL

Now it's not a new idea, as very few actually are, but more so the thinking behind adapting an existing one called "Pokemon Go"

Yeah, you've all seen those mindless zombie kids walking around in packs looking down at their phones as if the real world doesn't actually exist.

For the uninitiated, they are actually searching for Pokemon in an augmented reality game called Pokemon Go. "Gotta Catch 'em All"

Which got me thinking could something like this work for Steem Monsters?

Of course, it could and let me show you how.

Game Play

Imagine having a game app on your phone where you can find Steem Monsters In Real Life.

It would be pretty cool hey?

I'd imagine the game would use augmented reality to transpose a Steem Monster Animation into the real world.

And you'd use your chosen Summoner to try and capture these Monsters. With Monsters from the same Splinter being captured easier than ones from an archetype.

The chance of finding a Steem Monster is random.

And so are the chances of catching them.

Of course, you'd use the Summoners you've already leveled up in the online version of Steem Monsters, either through card combining or battling. And the power of your Summoner influences your catch rate.

I can imagine some cool capture graphics to go with the Summoners of choice.

Like Zintar, commanding the undead to capture his prey, with arms coming out the ground to pull the monster under.

Lyanna capturing her prey with vines.

And Tyrus capturing monsters with a Life Aura.

And once you've successfully captured one, the card is transferred to your online Steem Monsters Account.

Then rinse and repeat.

So where do these cards come from?

Funding the Monsters

Common Steem Monsters cards are currently only a few cents each so the maker of the game would just buy commons in bulk to fund the game. Consider it a form of advertising.

Of course, it'll be more interesting if occasionally you'll find a rare or epic, but absolutely legendary is off the table.

But in its place, Steem Monsters INC could issue a few exclusive cards that can only be caught with Steem Monsters IRL

See how that works, people play the online game to get leveled up summoners and play the mobile app to get exclusive cards. WIN-WIN

Funding the Game

But who is going to pay for this game you ask?

Well, I imagine Steem Monsters INC would fund the development of the game idea via another Kickstarter which gives an exclusive set of cards as a reward.

Cards that everyone wants in their collections and only available via a Kickstarter or a Fundition campaign.

And then hands over the money to a game development company that could work with @yabapmatt on the blockchain side of things.

Integrating it into the card game would be a first as I'm aware, and is made more achievable with blockchain tech. Which would surely be a newsworthy event?

Next Steps

Well I'm an ideas man, so this is where I hand over the idea to you and the community and if you think it has legs then lobby @aggroed and @yabapmatt to make it a reality (Augmented Reality that is)

Apart from setting up a Kickstarter and developing some awesome cards for the rewards, the bulk of the work would be done by a gaming company experienced in Augmented Reality so it could be something that is developed in parallel to the existing Steem Monsters schedule.

A big task for sure, but I'd certainly download the app, and start walking around like a mindless zombie, looking for card drops in my area.
