RE: A Look Inside the Book - Mortis & the Dark Eternals

in #steemmonsters5 years ago

Loved the peak into the dark eternals... And find it so interesting to see how the book version is spiced up from the original version. It's like how an outsider would describe the dark eternals vs how the dark eternals would describe themselves. It's a historian trying their best to understand a civilization and centuries of history and sharing the background... Sometimes it's like a game of telephone and that's actually super interesting to me. The original pure versions of history are almost never what we get... we always get a romanticized version that comes from another perspective that is writing for effect and that tells the story the best way they know how to the culture and understandings of their audience. It really is fascinating.

I really hope the lore and even philosophies of the splinters lives on and is discussed.

Sort:

Like discovering the epic of gilgamesh from sumerian civilization than trying to understand through hieroglyphics

Yeah great analogy.

And yeah even though I'm the original author of the the philosophies of the black splinter I see even myself as just a sort of Oracle or earlier Historian... Which means I may just be seeing a side and not the whole picture... and I hope that the black splinter continues to have histories and different attempts to explain who they are and what they believe.

I do look forward to reading the rest of the history.
