Weekly Alpha Steemmonsters Cards Analysis - November 18, 2018

in #steemmonsters6 years ago (edited)

Hello!

Welcome to another Sunday morning! That means it is time for a bit of research and insight into the Alpha Card Supply that remains uncombined for Steemmonsters. First, we'll start with a classic graph, showing the reduction in each splinter's supply compared to one another. Note this chart is just for regular foil cards only. Gold cards are excluded from all the charts that follow.

This chart is starting to look a little cluttered, so let's break it down by Splinter next.

Fire

Earth

Life

Water

Death

Dragon

Water is still the most combined overall, and fire has done some good catching up over the last few weeks. There's still the most individual life cards out there in the wild.

What of the Monsters?

Legendary

The Lord of Darkness has seen a bit of a combining spree over the last three weeks, leading to a fairly significant drop in supply when compared to other cards. The Spirit of the Forest has fallen flat since the removal of dodge, and there are now three alpha Legendaries with less than 1000 individual cards in circulation - welcome the Lightning dragon to the club!

The Chromatic Dragon, Gold Dragon, and Frost Giant are in the running to be the next Alpha Legendary with less than 1,000 individual cards in existence.

Epics

There's something ... Mischievous going on with the Mermaid. She's seen the largest number of combines this week, and is now the rarest Epic card in the game. The Serpent of the Flame saw a fairly steady decline in its supply, and everything else is pretty much within the same grounds of one another, comparatively.

Rares

There's not a lot to say about rares this week, with no major change in supply for any particular cards. Combines for Alphas have been fairly flat this week.

Commons

Flat numbers, too, for commons. One of my favourite cards, the Silvershield Knight, has seen a stead rate of combination week on week. There's no real anomalies in the data here.

Conclusion

Fairly flat Alpha regular foil combines this week. I have collated the data for golds during this same period, however, there is nothing notable, or worth publishing to be found in this data. I suspect when we have announcements about Gold Foil, or Alpha only tournaments, we shall see the above numbers change considerably.

Come back for next week for more analysis!

My data comes from steemsql, so from blockchain, not api :)
Thanks for mention :)

Thanks, I'll correct that in the post!

Would it be worth looking at the Summoners separately to see if they are skewing the numbers one way or the other?

I fat fingered the Lyanna data one week when inputting it, but that's what we can see from summoners only.

Cheers, thanks for that.

For some reason Mis. Mermaid is cheaper to level up alpha than beta.
One of the few...

A delightful analysis. For the sake of such analyzes, I begin to follow you.

Very interesting... have you seen if these figures correlate to increases in prices given the scarcity also increasing? I would sense that it would as it could eventually leave some Alpha never being able to max out unless gameplay starts to provide XP.
