One thing I wonder if you saw was that the choices the cards make about who to attack sometimes don't make any sense given the powers of the cards and the strengths/vulnerabilities of opponents. Like you can have a card with magic that keeps attacking another card (not the first card either) that is guarded against magic, instead of attaching a card with no such invulnerability.

Also, I sometimes see that a given card of the opponent may have only 1 life point left, and a card of mine with only 1 strike power will choose a different card to attack instead of finishing off that vulnerable one.

These things make me thing that in addition to card choice and order, fighting strategy really matters, and is not being maximized by the algorithms.
