SteemMonsters - What a Great Addicting Game
I have been involved with Steemit and the Steem ecosystem since a little bit after it began. Through the ups and downs, the pumps and dumps, I stick around and try to stay involved.
I must say though, during these dramatic crashes, it's hard to stay interested in the crypto, investing, technology, and even posting on steemit... Sometimes it's nice to play a damn video game!
So, instead of trading and going nutty from the market declines, I decided to try out the SteemMonsters collectable card game. Basically, I see a few users in my feed posting on this game, and so I chose user @enjar and used his affiliate link to join.
I originally dismissed it as "Some childish game" and "Not for me"
Well, after testing it out, I am addicted! - This game is awesome!
Had the day off and played SteemMonsters all day - I'm pretty lame!
It's like some alteration of Magic the Gathering. It is an online Collectable card game, where you collect, upgrade, and battle with your monsters! I love how it's decentalized and tied to a steemit account. Really cool stuff!
I bought the Starter pack, and took advantage of the free account creation, which is awesome to keep a separate account dedicated this this game. Plus, the 10% kickback on purchases in SP is a great way to build a new account.
But it wasn't until after getting my ass kicked a bunch, I picked up a few booster packs, got some upgrades and realized how complex the upgrading and combinations, and the mana restrictions make this game.
I give the developers props for building such a great application for the steemit blockchain.
This game can give Steem some serious value.

There are some people who are only sticking around on Steemit due to the game. Despite a lot of community out there having issues with people being active you can still find many SM communities out there buzzing with people.
I just enjoyed a weekly show that is hosted in a discord and they had one of their biggest turn outs yet that I'm aware of. Many are just enjoying it to keep their kinds of things.
I wouldn't doubt it. It's going to keep me coming around more often.

Any idea when the next season will happen?
They did not want do it before thanksgiving but they are hoping before the weekend is over. Since there are some changes coming with each match having different rules of combat.
