STEEM beyond Steemit
A couple days ago @Ned Scott, SteemitInc CEO, announced a massive lay off in the company, a 70% cut in personnel due to the bloodbath that crypto is facing. Those were sad news for all of us in the community and maybe a dark prospect for the future of the platform. Our beloved blogging dApp seems to be lost in the bear market, and even though that it works much better than any other decentralize application I know, there are no marketing actions put in place to bring more users and roads for massive mainstream adoption. Since @DanTheMan left there is a hole for the long term vision for this blockchain and new developments on it (one example: DLive left two months ago) meanwhile Ned keeps talking about ICOs and Steem.com (such a 2017 mentality). But then, once again, the magic of decentralization proves the power of the community and the Witnesses, an awesome battle game has risen from the adversity. Welcome to the future of the STEEM blockchain: SteemMonsters!
Blockchain gaming, Boom!
SteemMonsters is really one of the best card trading battle games I've ever played! And it is built right on the STEEM blockchain, which means that is fast, cheap and totally scalable. I haven't been this excited since I played Magic The Gathering for the first time!
These monster cards follow a similar logic as MTG: build a deck, go to battle and let the best strategy wins. The key here is that is not only gaming avatars, these cards are also tokens on the blockchain, which means are tradable for cryptocurrency, and thanks to Steemconnect is so easy to use and play, it is ridiculously addicting.
Developed by Steem Witnesses @Yabapmatt and @Aggroed, with help of other Steemians, making SteemMonsters a project from and for the community, ready for the masses. The game is currently in the Beta version, but that does not mean that lacks on user experience nor fun, it already has a great adoption, big user base and booming market. If the corporate people doesn't take this platform to its rightful place, then let the community do it! This is the right example of the power vested on the Witnesses should work for. A shining hero for dark times
I have been playing SteemMonsters only for a few days and I'm already hooked, the gameplay is fantastic and in the words of its creator more cool features are coming in the soon future (2019). This post is just about my happinnes on what the flagship of Steem might become with a project like this, soon Im gonna write about my experience playing it and if the luck is with me, my successful strategies or cards. Right now Im getting my ass kicked every other battle, but the daily quests and seasonal tournaments assure you new cards and booster decks to get ahead on the leaderboard.
