The same rule applies here as in the real world. if you want to grow fast, you'll have to spend money. Assuming that the growth you meant was financial. If you want to gain followers, try just putting out amazing content, but good luck with that. There are a lot of people who hate bidbots who have this utopian view in their minds that everyone can make it on Steemit without them. It's not true. If you want to get followers, first make good content... but then pay to get it upvoted. Also, comment as much as you can.
I think a lot of people get disappointed with Steemit because it is difficult to make money out of thin air. Most people have to spend money to make money on short time scales anyway.
