I agree, paired with the thorny turtle as tank it's a strong combo that leaves a lot of mana free for ranged and magic attackers.

Another great one is Swamp Thing, only 2 mana, and at level 4 he weakens and slows the enemy team! Plus decent health and a ranged attack.
