Interested in how AI can act when Singularity is around the corner?

Watch this movie: Ex Machina

Not to long ago I saw the trail of the movie Ex Machina. Immediately it drew my attention. Lately I’m quite active in informing myself on the topic of Artificial Intelligence and how it can influence our lives in the future. People like Ray Kurzwell (writer and working for Google) predicts AI can reach Singularity (singularity means: AI being as intelligent as humans) within 15 years. Others do believe this will take at least till the end of this century. Elon Musk warned the world through an open letter last year: message "AI can be harmful for human kind to survive"; He even established a new company for this Open AI.

Ex Machina is bringing a very interesting view and story on how AI is developed. By someone who owns a company that knows everything. A company that is very similar to Google and Facebook, but is integrated with society even more. A company that has great resemblance to “The Circle”, the company that knows everything in the book “The Circle” by Dave Eggers. From all of that knowledge, the owner is trying to create a humanlike AI while being totally secluded form the world. Almost nobody is informed. Almost nobody knows. However, a game changer to the world as we know it, is developed. As if the development takes place in someone’s basement.

I found Ex Machina a great time spend. Acting is at good levels. The story is just amazing, a very well possibility of what AI will be able to reach and how it’ll influence our lives. The effects are super cool, the way the AI played by Alicia Vikander is made to look like a real robot with real human looks, better, much better done graphically than for instance Robocop. I do not want to go in more details regarding the story itself, since I do not want to give away any clues of the movie itself. I advise also not to look on the Internet for the storyline, IMDB or other resources. Just take my word :)

I just can say, reserve some time, put some refreshments next to your cosy chair, couch or from wherever seating you generally watch movies, and hit the play button!

...Enjoy!

this movie man! a bit scary and shook me up lol!
but I'm pretty optimistic about the future! <3

Awesome movie! Watched it last week, kinda creepy though :)

kinda creepy though

A real possibility and that is why we have entrepreneurs like Elon Musk investing in Open AI and bringing open letters into the world.

Elon musk is such a source of inspiration, lets just hope their will not be too many unforseen errors. Things can turn pretty ugly very fast.

Nevertheless is do believe AI is becoming bigger and bigger in the upcoming years. I will be waiting and watching ;)

Some months ago I watched Ex Machina, I like it. Perfect to watch sitting on a comfortable sofa with an hot cup of milk and chocolate ;)

Absolutely, I had to hit pause to get the necessary things done, did't expect I could not do other stuff in parallel. The movie is just very well made an intriguing to be able to miss any second of it.

I agree with you, it's very well made an intriguing.

I was not convinced by the ending, though i enjoyed it. Another recent movie dealing with human/AI interactions is Spike Jonze's "Her"

Thank you for the advise.
Yep, the ending was something not to expected, but I did like to not so much hollywood type of ending.
Maybe giving to much spoilers away for those who did not watch yet :(

I never saw this movie before. I really need to get it ASAP! Super cool and exciting topic. By the way I need my own personal AI very soon to format my posts and chat with me. Hahaa

Ray Kurzwell says maximum 15 years, I say 25-40yrs before AI Human singularity. Watch also Interstellar, AI also on singularity level, sort of.

I might catch this if only 15years but I give up if it will take longer. I might get reincarnated into your AI

Some do believe that we may be able to download our brains... I had nice conversation the other day on Steemit about that, but can't find it. Google Search of Steemit s*cks, and searching on own comments only is not possible. Much room for improvement!
