Knowing SteemKitchen issue no 7 : Interview with @lizelle

in #steemkitchen6 years ago

Hello Steemers! this week we continue with our series Knowing SteemKitchen.

In the edition we meet our friend @lizelle

1 Who is @Lizelle?

My husband and I have been running our little guesthouse Lily's Cottage Durban West after retiring from the corporate world. I loved my job and had great work mates, worked as a GIS Techinician (Geographic Information Systems). I love my new job as I get to meet really nice and interesting people from near and far! No guessing that I love cooking and baking - the kitchen is my happy space, the best therapy when the world gets to me!

2 Where are you from?

I am from the sub-tropical city of Durban, South Africa. I really love my city and my country - we have the best weather year round - in Durban for sure! South Africa has an abundance of natural beauty, diverse landscapes from the ocean to the mountains and diverse people. I have been told by many of my international guests, that South Africans are the friendliest people they have come across. I love the fact that despite our differences, we can laugh together and enjoy the richness of each other's cultures. I truly believe this could be the best country in the world, if only our politicians could get their act together!

3 What is your favorite dessert and why?

My favourite summer dessert is one that I prepared for a steemkitchen contest - Sublime Tutti Fruity Yogurt Fantasy - well I even enjoy this one in winter as it's super quick. Here is the link if you'd like to take a peek - link

4 Which ingredient should never be missing in your dishes?

Cannot cook main dishes without an onion. Butter another necessity - my list of must haves is endless :)

5 How did you find this great community called SteemKitchen?

I was excited to get a reply from steemkitchen in one of my food posts, took a peek and really liked what I saw.

6 What do you like most about SteemKitchen?

I love the contests and the interaction between the community of talented food bloggers, plus the fact that we can learn from each other!

7 What do you like to prepare?

Desserts - I do have a sweet tooth :)

8 What style of cooking do you like the most?

Fuss free cooking is my style - preparing delicious dishes from everyday pantry ingredients.

9 What is South Africa's favorite dish?

South Africans love a BBQ or braai as we call it, always a congenial get together with family and friends.

10 Of all the styles of food in the world which one do you like the most?

My absolute favourite is Indian cuisine - love the intense spicy flavours and the diversity.

Steemkitchen would like to take this oppertunity to give a massive big thank you to @lizelle for all her wonderfull contributions and the little pep talks when I did not know which direction to take. We love you dearly and promise that our contest will return. xxXxx

if only our politicians could get their act together!

I think this pretty much sums up any place in the world right now. Love this interview as @lizelle and I share a lot of things in common. I always look forward to seeing what she has cooked up for the contests.

It's sad that the politicians are the same all over the world hey! Glad you enjoy my food @cecicastor, your homemade fish tacos were great, wish I could have tasted them :)
