Orange heavy rain warning for Tairawhiti Gisborne
Tairawhiti Gisborne in New Zealand has been upgraded to an orange warning for heavy rain, with MetService predicting the region could receive 70 to 100 mm of rain until 6 pm on Monday. This could lead to hazardous driving conditions, surface flooding, and slips, as well as rapidly rising streams and rivers. Heavy rain warnings and watches also remain in place for other parts of the country, including Hawke's Bay, Bay of Plenty, Marlborough, and Wairarapa. Waka Kotahi has advised drivers to be prepared for road hazards, with State Highway 2, 3, and 53 likely to be affected.
