WHEN THE GOVERNMENT FAILS TO PROVIDE BASIC AMENITIES FOR THE PEOPLE- THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN CAN BRING THAT CHANGE

I wonder over the years this place gone worse and this is really disheartening. I spent part of my life looking at this community across the river, I left this environment in 2005. I got the chance to revisit it and for the first time cross over to the community. I took the opportunity to explore this after Steemcamp and other steemians who attended the event was eager to see these places I spoke off and we took ride there.

This is Warri Waterway in Delta State, popularly known as Mc_Iver market and like I said, this was the first time I was crossing to the other side.

Getting to the community, this was worse than the way I do look at it from far and the situation was not appealing. Have you ever been a community with:

1. No road
2. No Clean Drinkable water
3. No light
4. No school
5. No hospital

Practically, all basic amenities are missing could not be found this community. Who is to be blame for this? Is it the Government or the people. I remember in 2003, there was a polling unit in that community where rigging was done. Could the people be problem to themselves. This isn't the case, as the hand of any government who had rule or still ruling has not touched the community. Is this wat we portray as the Oil city. Could it be true, the popular saying "Only the Oil is respected while the People are crap".

The people has to cross with a canoe to the other side to get everything they need. Life ain't easy here as you see kids and adults throwing faeces into the river, bathing, swimming and also drinking from this dirty water.

I feel the government has forgotten their responsibility and the people has forgotten their rights as human. Maybe illiteracy has sunk deep and only few could read and even the few cannot interprete the constitution, so they have remained this way from time immemorial.

As individual or group or as a community on the Steem Blockchain, we can make impact on our various communities when the government refuse to act.

According to @lordjames, these are one of the places where the Steem Blockchain can be taught and also use to impact positively to change lives.
