Updates From The First Steemjet Offline Meeting

On Saturday, May 26th, 2018 the Steemjet Spaceforce had the first offline meeting with 17 members in attendance including all four Sf1 members, Lead Hr, Head Audio, Head Medics and many others. This was an important step towards achieving our goal of global Steem adoption.

Delegates in attendance were 17 in number
@lordjames, @empato365, @deandaniel, @mbj, @joshuaetim, @kristenantai, @vheobong, @profchydon, @lifeofdarlington, @peterakpan, @geyzee, @folly-pandy, @nexrules, @ungest, @sancti and @fidelmboro

Non-delegates/Steemjetters includes
@angiebrown @ucathy and two others who were invited by friends to learn about Steemit but were not yet registered on the steem blockchain. It was fun and lots of serious issues were addressed.

Here are updates on issues addressed.

Departments

Steemjet has one vision: Global Steem Adoption. And we have to modify some departments to align them with this vision. Some departments were taken off or merged with other departments. Also, it's not compulsory to work in a department as there will be room for personal or group projects but independent workers will give account of their work.

The departments includes

  • Art/photography department headed by @mbj. This department will no longer only work on arts alone but will support other talents like dancing, drawing, painting, stand up comedy or just any talent. They will engage in monthly talent hunts to support every dream on the blockchain.

  • Music/voice department headed by @mrprecious and assisted by @kristenantai.

  • Technical Department Headed by @gutzygwin.

  • Steemjet content directors/editors headed by @empato3: Soon the gates will open for post to be contributed to the Steemjet account from any member of the community. The content directors will review and edit worthy contents before processing accepted articles to be made on the @steemjet official account.

  • Steemjet HR/welfare department headed by @joshuaetim for management and retention of Spaceforce members.

  • Steemjet Representatives/Newbie directors
    Headed by @deandaniel.

  • Steemjet health educators/advisors headed by @peterakpan

  • Steemjet social advisors headed by @lifeofdarlington tasked with running social media visibility projects.

The auditing department have now been merged with Hr. Therefore @penking will still run the auditing work under the Hr unit now.

The security department was modified into social advisors. This was decided so that we do not allow a centralized authority to a few people to decide on what is acceptable to the community. Instead we'll adopt a system of community policing where every member is automatically responsible for keeping Steemjet and Dimimp blog clean. Every member are authorized to follow the Steemjet launch codes and flag abusers and spammers. If also you believe that a user was downvoted wrongly, you can help by upvoting such to recover the lost reputation.

Members who do not have department yet can contact the Hr team lead by @joshuaetim to indicate their interest in a particular department.

Projects

Steemjet will carry out a lot of online and offline projects in order to achieve the goal of Steem global adoption. Two projects were addressed at the meeting which include

  • Operation catch them young: this project will aim at getting educative knowledge to school children and teachers to make sure kids learn about cryptos and the blockchain technology even before they grow into teenage age.

  • Rural Support Scheme: it is true that those who truly needs help might not have access to the internet. The rural support scheme will aim to give people in rural areas technical supports to ensure they too have a chance to learn and own cryptos.

  • Welcoming of newbies by through the community account which will be headed by Deandaniel.

We encourage people to think of projects that can help achieve the vision of global adoption of Steem. Any suggestions can be reached out to any member of Sf1 and it shall be considered.

Funding

Having noticed that all department have received initial start up Steem except the art department, therefore I asked that the art department do submit their proposal too so they will received initial funding from Dimimp. Now that initial funding have been sent to each departments, Lordjames will now be funding worthy projects from members and departments which focus on helping us achieve our goals. Therefore department should no longer request for funding for their department but show us project of work (project you are doing ) and explain how your project will help in achieving our goal, then you will be considered for funding.

Educating Members.

You cannot teach to others what you yourself do not understand. We therefore call on all members to take the issue of learning deeper about cryptos and the blockchain technology. This is very important that members understand about the current crypto environment. We also open doors for anyone who wishes to educate others to do so through guest posting on the Steemjet account.

About the departments where each delegates are supposed to be attached, updates will be made this week. What is keeping that pending now is that it needs to be properly arranged and the duties of each departments will be explained.
The simple rule is, No steemjet delegate should belong to more than just a department.
Some department will be having lesser number of people and some will have more number of people, because of the duties associated with it.
Steemjet Representative/Newbie departments and Steemjet Public Relation department will have higher number of people.

All duties will be clearly explained on the post that will be made this week.

Having noticed that all department have received initial start up Steem except the art department

Please it's pertinent to note that the health department haven't gotten any funding yet. The boss @dimimp went through our proposal and saw it fit saying that he will give us initial start-up funding of about 500steem but as of now we haven't gotten anything neither from the boss nor from @lordjames which according to the boss said was given a chunk of cash to help fund projects, thank you.

On the meeting, I think it's something we really needed. Issues were deliberated on and replies were given. I think by now everyone has been cleared on his/her department's Aims and Objectives.

Also if I may suggest, I think you guys should add the Discord Server of SteemJet at every posts so everyone can quickly contact any Space Force members if they have any questions or queries regarding SteemJet. :)

A wonderful effort from all the SF1.

Well, I think I'll love my new role more now. It's now time to harness the power of Social Media to promote steemjet. It's already part of our project headed by @lifeofdarlington.

@dromzz is a YouTuber while I am equally vast in social media management. So, it's a complementary teamwork as usual.

It was a good meeting

Perfect, I was attentive all the morning that the meeting was held and I gave my opinions regarding the security department ... of course I am proudly part of the department of newbies, and I have taken care to welcome some and guide people like @banymaracara and @rosetargaryen.

I've been communicating with @deandaniel lately, getting to know each other and exchanging a bit of information, thank you leader.

A concern from you was forwarded to us on issues of Steemjet been racially and gender bias. We wish to state that such is not grounded. Steemjet was, and still is, open for anyone to participate.

Users were not assessed by any criteria except for the work that was submitted by them or by their proposal. And I'm sure you didn't expect us to deny people chances of working with us because the belong to a gender/nation that is already a majority here. And we are not expected to go force people to come work with Steemjet just to balance the demographics.

So, Steemjet does not discriminate, we are for global adoption. Thank you.

Of course I know and I have seen the way they have integrated so many people from so many different places ... I know there is no discrimination.
I mention them as part of the important things that should be looked after with the security department ... congratulations to all the members and to keep going! A great job has been done.
