Now what's steem high??

Well for steemjetters, this is a household name as everyone by now knows one of our core aim and values is to spread the word of steem to the next generation..... The kids.

prayer session with @aideedavies

So on Monday morning we were at Mayflower primary school to deliver this project. We were met and welcomed by the headmistress who led us to the school auditorium which contained about 200+ students.

@udembahenry on time management

So we started off things with a prayer session, one of the kids was called upon to pray on behalf of everyone. After that things kicked off.....

@ucathy on cleanliness and personal hygiene

@ucathy was the first to take center stage and she educated the kids on cleanliness. In her words "cleanliness is next to Godliness". The kids were taught on personal hygiene, how to get themselves neat and free of germs, dirts and sickness. As one vying to be successful in the crypto, in life, one needs to be healthy.

teachers in attendance

Next up was @annieben. Anie taught the kids more about righteousness. Living a life of salvation, how to get closer to God and also be of good morals.

@annieben on morals and righteousness

Next up was @udembahenry. Mr Henry taught the kids on time management. This was one delicate topic the kids needed to be aware of, this is a very bad practice in Africa e.g in most schools, kids go to classes late as little as their daily tasks might be. Waking up early, keeping to time etc. He also advanced that time management will definitely help them when venturing into crypto. One of the examples he set was when to set sell order, stop limit, buy order etc.

materials for the pupils

Next up was @penking from customer care crew joined the team to see to the success of the mission. He talked on "tips to success". Humility, socializing, punctuality, obedience, having a mentor etc.

Lecturing them on entrepreneurship and steem

Next up was @aideedavies. Ms Davies just like @penking and @Ucathy also harnessed the need of being successful in academics and life after the primary education. Things like having a reading partner, having revision groups, asking questions in classes where you seemed lost. And also kicked against exams malpractice amongst others.

@aideedavies

And Lastly it was my turn to talk to the kids..

I started things off with a Q&A session with the kids, Just to be sure they kept up with what we were feeding them with. And believe me we were impressed with the outcome. Oh these kids woawed our expectations, not to talk of our steem high ambassador that answered "...the meaning of time management?" from @udembahenry.

@peterakpan and @penking.... Thanks for the support

So after rephrasing the whole episode, it was now time to go to the bussiness of the day. They are kids in a third world country so one can't just ask "what's steem and steemit or cryptocurrency?". Preferably I started things off with "what it means to be an entrepreneur?" which they aired their views, some were right, others tried.

So after I explained to them in simple terms as "someone who is basically working for himself and also self funded" I now went on to ask them what and what type of work is considered as an entrepreneurial work?.

the team with the teachers

Answers flew in..... Hairdresser, mechanical, caterer, etc. Now the response was good so immediately I switched to crypto. "... Do you know there's a platform you could post something on and get rewarded for it?" . Even the teachers too some extent were shocked cos to some it was only journalism they knew and you have to work for a media house or something to get rewarded.

@penking on success tips

I couldn't really get forward on this with them on blockchain and cryptocurrency as a whole but I made sure they know we are in "a new world", a rapidly growing one that waits for no one. I further stressed the value of time like @dimimp would say... "time is what I don't have". Making them know the cost of missing an opportunity, which a miss could make or marr your life.

@annieben

OK back to Steem, how to blog, upvote, join communities on steem were the basic things that were discussed. I also talked abit on coins like etherium, EOS, hybrid etc. But it all boiled down to the fact that for now, these kids weren't equipped with the basic tools to use and blog. More of the reason we started with time management, punctuality, etc to atleast project them to a positive part so once they are equipped, they can excel quick.

the kids with their Oliver books and the team

After everything which took about 3hrs 25mins, gift items were shared, books, pens amongst other materials were distributed to the kids to aid their academic careers. Also we had two steemjet ambassadors who performed extraordinary well during the Q&A sessions. They were rewarded with more materials and also a customized steem high polo for them.

The Headmistress on her closing remark thanked the steemjet health team SFHealth for embarking on such an educative project that even they too benefitted. we made our closing remarks, prayed and the day came to an end.

other team members unavailable were unavoidably absent

But before we left, here is what the kids had to say to the community....

gratitude

Thanks to steemjet, @dimimp, @god and the steem community as a whole. Let's look to the future.... "Udom Digipreneurs".

Sort:

We were able to touch the life's of some kids out there in someway. And i am glad and grateful to God and @dimimp for making this a reality....

Thanks, it wouldn't have been possible without you.

Nice one. I'm glad we were able to impact on those kids. It wouldn't have been possible if not for the help from @dimimp.

Thanks, it wouldn't have been possible without you.
