Steemit World Map of my sculptures
Some of the regular viewers to my posts may have noticed a @Steemitworldmap comment at the bottom. This ingenious site built alongside Steemit is a great way to view posts from all round the world and I have been adding my posts to it for the last few months.
My work has brought me to many countries and like the map on a wall of an intrepid explorer office, now every Steemian can have their own personalised map with pins indicating where they posted from. This is great for travelers posts but also for people like me. I am a visual person.
Ammonites world
I wanted to make this post to introduce you to mine and mention that I will be adding a little icon to the bottom of posts to come.So you will know what it's about. Readers will be able to click this and go straight to my map and discover my other work. For now you can click the image below to test it out.

(I hope that doing a mashup of their logo is OK. If not I can use something else.)
Simplicity itself
Using steemitworldmap is easy. You click on the map and type a description of your post then just copy and paste the line of code that the website produces into your post. I love it, especially its simplicity.
The website was created by @martibis and @blueorgy and has had lots of other developers jump in to help with updates and fixes. The user account @steemitworldmap also does a great post every day curating what they find on planet Steemit.
My map looks pretty sparse at the moment as it was only a few months since I found steemitworldmap. I have posts that I made previously which I would like to add, but this is not possible at the moment. @Martibis told me that hopefully this functionality will be added soon.
Feel free to check out my work and the exact location of each sculpture. Satellite view is what I find the coolest as it helps me work out where to place my pins.
That's it for for now. Be sure to check out @steemitworldmap and their curation trail.
@ammonite
This is a fantastic idea. It will be really cool when you can backfill all the locations.
Yes, dont really understand how that would work in relation to the blockchain or would it need a new database to store that which is already locked in. They're clever guys so im sure they'll find a way.
Congratulations @ammonite! You have completed some achievement on Steemit and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :
