When I first heard about Steemit from @ifioklee some two months ago, one of the things that came into my mind was

Holy shit! Is this for real??

Let me admit this. Immediately I saw a post about how Steemit was helping people to make some cold cash, my first impression was that Steemit was a huge crab, a confused community where only the extremely wealthy would actually make it. Not until my other friend @messinaldo offered to help me out.

His real name is John. John told me how joining the Steemit community has changed his life. I was stunned. Armed with this information, I decided to try it out. I starting steering on January 3, 2018 and it's been worth the while.

Thanks to @dobartim, I have the wonderful privilege of talking about how Steemit has turned around my life.

Here are the four main areas I have really seen a lot of impact in my life.

LIFE COMMUNICATION

As a Steemian, one of the first things you readily notice without being told is that you can't survive without communication. This is necessarily a truth passed down from life itself. No single tree acting on its own can make a forest. No Steemian acting on his/her own can make it on the Steemit community. Thus, one of the areas I believe Steemit has really affected me is in the area of life communications.

Let me tell you what exactly is happening. The following pictures are screenshots of my activities on two very popular chats: WhatsApp and Discord.

FUN FACT:Prior to joining the Steemit community, I ditasted WhatsApp and WhatsApp group chats. After I joined Steemit, I now spend as much as 10 hours a day on WhatsApp/Discord talking to fellow Steemians and building life connections!

Steemit made this possible. I now reach out to more people to spread the ideals of peace, prosperity and promote the culture of excellence through hard work.

One more thing. There is the attitude of giving and selflessness. Steemit has a way of infusing this into steemians as you will learn to suevivie only through giving. I have a philosophy that says that in other

to be happy, make others happy. To be good, be good to others.

I have seen this play out well enough on Steemit. Thank God I am fully into it.

FINANCIAL COMMUNICATION

One of my major reasons for joining the Steemit community borders around this. The reason is obvious. I come from a family with income as low as $4 a day. We were better off when my dad was alive. When he passed out on October 6, 2013, I knew we were in for tough times. Mind you, I am the third child in a family of four. We are currently in school. Now who gets to pay the fees? Who gets to pay the rents? Who gets to pay the electricity bills? Who gets to feed us all at least twice a day?

Not relatives. They have got their own plates full of problems to deal with. So who then?

But here is the thing. Mum ain't got no good source of income!. She is a low retailer of fish in the local market. Now you can imagine the situation.

But all of that is gradually changing with Steemit! I have so far been able to settle some pressing bills in the house through my little earnings on Steemit. My eldest brother called some weeks ago and asked for an urgent financial assistance. It was so easy to say 'hold on a sec! I'll get back to you next week(this week)' because I was so certain the money will come, thanks to Steemit.

Nowadays I don't have to worry about any of my financial needs. This is the confidence that Steemit has somehow built inside me. I have read the story of how a fellow Steemian known to me singlehandedly offseted the medical bills of somebody he barely knew to the tune of over N100,000($277). That inspired a lot of confidence in me and I am going to help as many as I can through the financial empowerment that Steemit currently offers.

FUN FACT: This year I plan to make my first one million. I can. I will!

BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

With Steemit, you can be sure you'll end up an entrepreneur of sorts! While I am not directly involved in any private business, I have plans to set aside 85% of my income this year to enable me publish a book. I am in the process of acquiring a good publishing company to deliver on my desire to be a published author.

Several years before now this wouldn't be possible. I remember sitting down on my desk writing another chapter of my book when a thought just springs up amoidst other thoughts, 'You have a good story, but sorry, you haven't the money to get it published. How do you get by that?' It worried me no doubt. But now, I think I have an answer!

Moreso, I intend to deploy the payout of this post in advancing my book sales. I am one of three authors of the book BRAIN BOOSTER.
Brain Booster is a Mathematics solution book for freshmen in my university.

EDUCATION COMMUNICATION

This is the part I guess I like most. If you notice, my business communications seemed more vested in the publishing industry than elsewhere. That's because I love books! I love learning.

On Steemit, one of the things you learn to do is post. And post original, quality stuff you must! I have doubled my research efforts since joining Steemit last month. I could spend as much as 10 hours surfing the net for information about an article I intend to post on Steemit.

FUN FACT: One of the key reasons I fell in love with Steemit was the level of encouragement Steemit provides for scholarship and academic excellence. Time and again I have seen a good number of well researched works get high curation for their contents.

At school, I am 100% certain about paying up my school fees and other academic requirements that need financial power. @utomobong my friend can attest to the fact that we spend quite a lot of money getting things done as per our academic works.

I have never been so sure about paying up my school fees and meet up other school billings as I am now. Remember I shared the story of how life has been a lot difficult for my family since we lost our bread winner some five years ago with no financial security of any kind.

Academic challenges are best handled with a sound mind. You cannot face your studies when you're bothered about what to eat, when or where the money will come for your school fees and other stuff like that. Steemit came and changed all of that.

Next year I'll be graduating top of my class and top of my faculty in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Uyo, Nigeria. It's been a long journey. All I can say is that nothing is impossible with hard work and consistency. The same is true of Steemit where I have learned to sit down and study and read more so I can add value and make life better for others.

Joining such highly educative Steemit communities like #stach, #Air-clinic and #promo-mentors has really helped me. I must thank @futurethinker and @samstickz and @ifioklee for their massive supports via tutorials. When I thought I was a good writer, I knew I had a long way to go. It's all exciting when you hear people offer critical analysis of your work with a view to making you a good writer. @futurethinker has really helped me out on that regard.

So there you go. It's one month and still counting. I have big plans for the future. I can do so much now, thanks to my experience on Steemit.

Let me thank @dobartim once again for giving us this platform to tell the world our story. Together, we can fight a lot of lot of things: poverty, diseases, death, crime, mental retardation and illiteracy, etc. Steemit is helping swathes of communities and individuals like me fight that.
