Steemit Ultimate Challenge 8 Weeks- Week #4

Firstly, I will like to express my gratitude to God Almighty for the gift of life and to @dobartim for organizing this contest.
There are impossible scenarios in life, some are experiences, some are imaginations, while others are unimaginable realities, while some are imaginable, yet never come to fruition.
Some dream and believe in it, while others dream and forget it, some believe in multipurpose nature of man and his dealings, while few pessimists never believed that one can kill two birds with just a stone

Steemit, a decentralized social media group is undoubtedly in the categories of men who can kill two birds with just a stone.
In a nutshell, Steemit is a online platform which is becoming a Non governmental organization (NGO) that is really imparting the world of which it has transformed my life positively.

I am Augustine Samson @samson12, a Nigerian, a Medical student who believes that with Steem blockchain, eradication of poverty will be achieved in no distant time in My country. I developed interest in Steemit January 2018 when I saw my classmate @gee1 flew to Ghana for a meet-up and it was fully sponsored by Steemit community.
I and @brightex met her and she told us how to go about the registration of which we did and since then she has been mentoring us and I am grateful to her. Though I have been on Steemit for a short period, but it has transformed my life positively.
Take a glass of water before you read my Story.
LIFE COMMUNICATION
Life is a mystery that no mortal can delve into, so that if the choice of where one is to be born is dependent upon one's choice before conception, in all sincerity, without being sentimental, I would have wanted to be Bill gate's driver or Obama's bodyguard. But unfortunately, beggars couldn't ride, because wishes weren't horses. It was so bad those were always my usual thinking because of the nature of my family background.

I am the Ist in a monogamous family of 3.
I started experiencing life's hardship the moment the earth heard my first cry. People close to my mum have told me it was that bad I was not able to enjoy colostrum(first natural breast milk) why? Because my mum was too dehydrated and hypoglycemic that she could not bear to lose any fluid from her body
Well this seems to be the least of it all, God had always been there. Struggled throughout my primary and secondary education, now in the university I am still struggling. I have uncles one of which I know, a graduate of veterinary medicine and he his doing well but kept deaf ears to my parent cry
I was frustrated,I was always alone because I couldn't match up to the standard, had low self esteem and confidence, I was always sad, I almost quit school because I could not continue again until January 12,2018 when I met @gee1 about Steemit and she helped me with the registration. I actually came into Steemit with the mindset of making money quick so I could relieve my parent stress but when it was not forthcoming, I lost interest and my mentor @gee1 said Samson Steemit will help you discover your gift and it requires patience I thought of what she told me and decided to give another try and this time, it started yielding some result which boosted my self confidence among my mate .it has improved my writing skills and has thought one important virtue which is Patience.
Financial and Educational Communication
If there is really reincarnation, I would wish my second chance in this world be better than what I have seen so far. Being a medical student, is almost a challenge, because of several mind blowing and soul threatening MBBS examination one has to go through to eventually become a medical doctors.
Medicine is a course that reminds one of the popular saying that
many are called but few are chosen
It is like a real warfront, like a tug of war that only the fittest survive, fitness here is not in terms of body built but by hardwork and finance and both must go in pari passu .
I had to resort to combining my medical school with some menial things to help end meet.
And as if to say everything is working against the indigent ones, medical school in my university is not within the main campus university, thus making it difficult to cope with basic amenities the university provides.
I bought water everyday that I use to bath, transported myself everyday to the teaching hospital with more than 300Naira which is equivalent to 1$. These weren't helping my finances at all. Sometimes I don't go to school because of transport fare and it makes me feel the world is against me, I hardly think well again because of my condition, yet after everything I will be expected to write the same exam with my mate.
The interesting part of my story is me gaining financial freedom is coming to a reality since I joined Steemit and some of my close friends I told about Steemit who didn't have interest in it initially and knew my past condition asked me Samson you are looking good these days what is the secret?, with smile on my face I told them

  • Steemit did it*,
    Steemit is doing it'
    and Steemit will do more.
Immediately they signed up with Steemit @asogwa.jekwu, @the.chiomz, @otakagufranklin and we got to connect more.
Although initially combining Steemit with my academics was a big problem, but with time, I understood how it worked and I adjusted myself and now I am doing well.

Business Communication
The body is divided into many parts that work together to achieve a common goal. But that is not the same with attention. A divided attention can never achieve an optimal goal, no matter how difficult one strives, though I knew all these but then I had no option than to divide my attention to make end meets in my struggles.
I got engaged with repairing faulty phones and minor electrical works in my hostel.
My hostel room is equally my shop and that is the way life has been for a child striving that tomorrow become better.
The most difficult moment for me in my strive was the day I got electrocuted when trying to fix electrical work for a student. A day I nearly thought of stopping everything and dropping out of school as things got worse as day went by but God grace sustained me and after joining Steemit, I stopped the electrical work because I was putting my life into risk as I didn't know much about it and I also stopped repairing faulty phone as it was a divided attention and channeled all my attention to Steemit and my academics
Community Participation
One community that has helped my Steemit journey is @steemit-enugu community.
They made me feel sense of belonging.
@gee1 being one of those in charge of Steemit Enugu has been a great leader and a mentor to me.

** How Steemit changed my life**

  2. Something fatal might have happened to me if I was still doing my electrical work because I was putting my life on risk just to make end meets. Steemit saved my.life

  4. Steemit taught me the virtue patience as it is important to succeed in life
  5. Steemit taught me that blessed is the man that giveth, for he will receive
You must give no matter how little before you receive
  6. I have relieved my parent the stress for catering for me in school making them channel their money to my siblings
  7. Steemit has also helped raised my standard of living and many youth in my country
  8. When I become successful on Steemit platform, I will truly love to be like @dobartim as he love organizing contest to help the indigent ones.

Charity begins at home
