Steemit Ultimate Challenge 8 Weeks :Here's Why Joining Steemit Has Been The Best Decision That I've Made In The Last 30 Days
Coming from a guy who only joined Steemit less than a month ago and has posted less than 50 items, I’d be telling a big fat lie if I said that I’ve earned a sizable amount of money on the Steemit platform. Fortunately, my being a Steemian isn’t just about the SBD, Steem Power or any other financial benefit.
Within this short time frame, I have also learned so many cool stuff, interacted with some interesting people, made new friends online, discovered new places, learned how to cook amazingly tasty cuisines, understand all the fuss and brainy talk about the incoming crypto currency revolution better... and generally improved my overall life experiences.
I have to admit here though that after facing all the initial discouragement and disillusionment of reading some informative articles and checking out their meager earnings, I personally was hesitant to waste any more of my valuable time in writing anything.
After all, I am a professional copywriter. Writing is something already ingrained in me. It is something I enjoy doing so much.
On other platforms, albeit freelance sites, writing articles has generated a lot of income for me... so you can imagine my initial shock at seeing outstandingly good fictional pieces, poems, blog posts, compilations etc written by some great writers in the Steemit universe earning less than ten cents... weeks after they were published.
Oh well... I digress. Back to the real discussion at hand then...
What can I beat up my chest with and say to the world out there that I have benefited since signing up on Steemit?
Life Communications
First of all, if there had to be one single thing for me to pinpoint here and now, I’d have to say it’s the connections and number of new friends I’ve made on Steemit. I love to communicate with new people whenever I get the opportunity to do so ... and I understand that for some people, that is like “crazy”. For me though, it’s as cool as it gets.
I’ve made new friends on Steemit through commenting on posts (whether good or bad, old or new), making suggestions or just basically goofing off. The obvious collaboration between Steemit and other chat platforms such as Steemit chat, discord and others has enabled me to communicate and interact freely with my fellow Steemians, especially those from other countries.
Heck, I now enjoy a very tight, friendly connection with a beautiful Brazilian bombshell I met here... thus being on my way to fulfilling that young adult fantasy I used to have of getting married to a South American/ Latina lady one day (fingers crossed!).
For the guys reading this...Yeah, you all know what I’m talking about. That one we all had...or still have from time to time.
That will surely be the proverbial icing on the relationship cake for me so thank you Steemit for that in advance.
Financial Communications
I landed my very first Steemit copywriting gig a few days after joining the platform. I never tried to sell myself to my client in any way.
Just gave simple, sincere comments and constructive suggestions on other people’s posts on matters that were totally unrelated matters .
Days later, I got some messages on discord from my current client asking if I could write sales script for his brand’s video ad.
Today, I’m about $450 richer and counting (USD not SBD by the way) because of that gig and I just might be contracted to write another one very soon, depending on who gets to hire me first.
All of these from just commenting on Steemit.
Business and Educational Communications_
Hmm... Where to start?
My first true experience of the world of crypto currencies came in March 2017. My Canada-based client offered to pay my copywriting services using Bitcoin.
I knew next to nothing about Bitcoin or any other crypto cash for that matter... but after conducting my own due diligence about it on the internet, I decided to take up my client’s offer.
Back then, 1 BTC was about $1650 or so. After getting the payment, I decided to let the coins remain in my wallet for some time.. to see what happens. Luckily for me, the price climbed all the way to about $2300 some weeks later. Fearing a further dip in value after the usual aftershocks and downward corrections usually associated with a sudden rise in price of most FX commodities and currencies, I decided to prematurely liquidate my Bitcoin investment... out of fear and greed.
Now I deeply regret that fickle and ill-informed decision as we all know that BTC rose higher all the way to above $10000 in December 2017, which was my initial game plan. I still beat myself up sometimes for making what turned out in hindsight to be an awful decision.
But thanks to Steemit, my financial and trading education has improved tremendously. Watching educative videos on Dtube and reading timely articles on cryptocurrency trading, analyses, news and forecasts by vastly experienced Steemians such as @binance, @boxrunning, @me-tarzan, @exyle and @cryptopassion... to name an elite few, has helped me so much.
Heck, I’m no expert myself (not yet anyway) but with the level of quality financial information I get from these guys on almost a daily basis.... It’s simply a matter of time.
It’s not just about crypto currency though. I’ve gathered so much knowledge about seemingly trivial but amazing stuff.
Things like ...
• How to identify original Honey
• How to take amazing macro photos of tiny plants and animals
• How to make peanut butter and banana oatmeal (so delicious and healthy I tell you...thanks to you @gringalicious)
• So many more wonderful lessons too numerous to state here.
Conclusion
My Steemit journey has been extraordinarily wonderful to say the least. I can only hope and have faith that it will get better and better with each passing week. I must also commend guys like you @dobartim, for giving us minnows a chance to shine in the Steemit spotlight and make some good money as well ... through your generous, well-planned and fun competitions.
For my fellow Steemians especially the new guys like me, don’t give up. Keep it coming and remember to make use of other sites within the Steemit group such as Dtube, Dmania, Utopian, busy.org and so on.

Thank You Again @Dobartim,
Let’s All Steem On!
@order4adwriter, interesting what professional copywriter can achieve here. You may not get enought exposure because of using not popular tags. #cryptocurrency and #crypto, and so other more popular tags would give you more upvotes. Followed you to see your progress here.
Thanks for the links to some great content; I used them to follow @exyle and @dobartim. I've only been here a week, but I agree that it's the best decision I've made in the last 30 days, as well. Good luck!
Thanks for your reply...enjoy your next 30 days and more as well....
I'm happy for you. I also a month ago became a steemian and it was my very good decision. I earned $150 and found 200 followers
Wow Yura81,
That's great...you did way better than me in the followers department....
Good Job!
@originalworks
Awesome post @order4adwriter and I wish you all the best here on steemit.
I love it here and I know you will do great things here.
