It seem that there is less spammy content on steemit, however it's also obvious that userbase shrinked greately.

You've invested your time. And that's your resource. Sometimes even more worthy than money.

I personally experienced and, I think a lot of people experienced being at the lowest part of the food chain and it sucks. But, as you write/ create, people will get to know you and eventually, you'd earn.

Absolutely. Discipline and long term thinking is what's important. Plus obviously setting up realistic goals.
