Steemit is NOT a Blogging Platform! Anyone Who's a Blogger Will Confirm This

in #steemitsuggestions8 years ago (edited)

Blogging Has MUCH More Freedom of Edit

  • Blogging allows you to monetize a page and have it Earn for decades, at the same URL

  • Blogging allows the introduction of new comments, years after being posted

  • Blogging allows you to edit your content, any time it's necessary.

  • Blogging allows you an extremely diverse number of options to choose from for layout, colors, fonts, image placement and on and on and on.

  • Steemit cuts off revenue after a max 30 days, at any one URL

  • Steemit cuts off the ability to comment after 30 days

  • Steemit cuts off editing after 24hrs

  • Steemit provides a limited presentation format

Why Continue to Call it a Blogging Platform?

What About Blockchain Bloat?

Popular and changing content has to be re-posted every 30 days. Anyone notice the bloat beginning to swell the blockchain? Sort by duplication or something and you'll see it's begun.

Anyone Have a "Short" Description of Why?

Is there a discussion out there I can be linked to, which explains why the developers chose bloatware, over leaving edit and revenue options up? I'd definitely give it a read.

Thank You

Correct, it is more like a community that pays you to post useful info in the present. I agree, more targeted marketing is needed.

Indeed, and most of my information is useful for years.

Good points. Not an open blogging platform really, but more of a restricted blogging platform. They work differently. Regular blogs don't have votes that get you paid in a 24 hours period. Pros and cons to each platform functionality. Peace.

8 months later.. at least it is possible to find old content and comment on it now.

LOL

Yeah, I just noticed that a week or so ago. :) Cool beans. :)
