PATCHWORK RESURRECTION
The melodious song of your sighs
the singsong tone of your dark accent
the soft and sweet tone of your mature rum
I wish I was a medieval hero to force you into
submission
Seduce the obstinate traveling salesman in me
tuck up my frothing ocean inside your skin
and all that tastes of bile in my dull life
and turn it into a glamorous Italian film
Come back to me, splendid nacre petal
come back to me, you, who shunned the crowds
discreet and soft melody of old stanzas
that get lost in your eyes and in your locks
Be mine again, green nymph of expensive blossoms
loose yourself once more behind the fences of my arms
let’s make a cozy patchwork quilt out of our failure
let’s blatantly mock the lighthouse keeper

NOTES
This poem is perhaps a plead to an old, failed love to revive past fires taking advantage of a fortuitous, unique opportunity, for life is short and happiness, however ephemeral, is precious.
this woman is perfectly imperfect
