What do we do?
When those who sheltered our hearts
When the cold breeze wooed the night
Seem so far in our thoughts
When the very blood beneath our elastic skin
Fights against our will
Hurting our bones
What do we do?
When our cry-coated tongues
Speak not our own words
But the words of those who left us to wallow in sandstorms
Those who knew how hurt spelt doom for our feeble minds
Yet left us wailing in silence
With our hands over our heads
What do we do?
When our being fights within us because we are hurt
Beyond what we can comprehend
When we want to look away from our souls in the dirt and move on
But our souls........
Our blood........
Don't want to......
