Just Breathe, 100 Days of Poetry Challenge & Digital Art (Day 9) @d-pend
Just Breathe
a worrying cortex
silence a base amygdala
anger … calm
fear … I will not
desire … not right now
hunger … I will use it
a hollow stomach sets example
to a too full mind … empty
what is discovered devoid of image ...
what is heard when thoughts stop echoing ...
reach out with the mind
rely on the medulla oblongata
just breathe

A heartfelt thank you to those at the Steemit School for hosting the challenge:)
I could get the sense of urgency, the tension that leads to the need for calm, especially in these lines:
Great juxtaposition of tones between that anxiety and the calmness of the breath.
Thank you, naquoya:)
Nice poetry and digital art. BTW, I see that you are making a 100 days challenge, then good luck for it. :)
Thank you, wagun:)
“what is heard when thoughts stop echoing...” A brilliant question
Perhaps a more descriptive word would have been felt but it did not fit conceptually with the poem:)
I loved these lines and I also loved the spacing you used throughout the poem, separating the single words from the small phrases. It really helped to present the thought metaphor. Nice write.
Thank you, moeknows:)
