'Mother' - 100 Day Poetry Contest Day 62
Welcome... To a 100 day journey into the poetic minds of the @steemitschool writing community!
Today we move onto the second sacred element -
Earth.
An ode to the one true parent that we all share.
I give gratitude to the 4 elements every day, as I wake and feel the sun on my skin, drink water, shower, breathe, feel the Earth beneath and between by feet....
It feels nice to be going a little step further with these pieces.

Mother
The birth place of each one of us...
The one true parent we all share.
How long…
Has she been here?
Providing the perfect conditions for life to exist.
For billions of years her dancing persists,
Pirouetting round and round The Cosmos,
To the Fire she’s bound -
Magnetism keeps her close,
Yet far enough that we won't toast.
She’s our host,
Our home.
Our grandmother too.
Sadly So Many
Have Forgotten This Truth.
She’ll march on
Long after,
We Are Gone
But if we treat her with Love -
Care and Respect,
Change the effect -
Begin to protect,
Continue to connect.
Correct
What we’ve wrecked,
Instead of leaving it
Unchecked.
Mother...
I’m sorry
For the damage that we do.
Before I die,
I’ll change this world,
And
We’ll All Take Care Of You
