Day 12 of the Steemit School Poetry: BAD HABIT
Hi Friends,
I saw a blog post by @paigegirl where she asked this question,
What would you do if you walked in on someone abusing a minor?
Now, the question I am asking myself in this blog post is what would I do if the person I trust and owe my life to is taking advantage of me in the most uneventful way possible. Well, here is my answer
Bad Habit

Bad habits trot on like horses,
Till they find a face they love,
Till they find too much happiness
On the scalp of one's head.
Without meaning to, they possess the face
Possess the scalp
Hoping for ales of happiness
To flow into them.
But the moment they flash their horrendous teeth
At happiness. It flees.
Once, your bad habit used to be
Shaking your legs like a leaf
Pouring a restless gaze on the floor
Making your feet the wind that breezes
And leaves many cowering.
But when I came in,
I became your bad habit.
First, it was the stare,
Deep and searching.
You looked into everything I was
And would be
With your eyes, you walked the miles
I only dared to see into.
Then your hands started roving,
Mildly, at first
Wildly, in the end.
My arms
My eyelashes
My stomach
My buttocks
Nothing escaped your touch.

I pressed my legs to the floor always,
While you made me into a habit.
A bad one.
I gritted my teeth always
Waiting to get tired of me,
Like a boy would a video game.
You did. You got tired.
But only when you found another hobby.
I still bear the scar, though.
I still can feel your hands,
On my skin.
I tell myself, you should have stopped him.
Done something
Anything
To make him stop.
I ask myself again.
What should I have done?
It wasn't like I thrust yourself into me.
I was a habit, your habit. I was just
A habit gone wrong.
