Steemit Sandwich Contest Week # 10 (Theme: Apple) - Southern Fried Pork Chop Biscuit Sandwich with Spiced Apples (3rd Entry)

I didn't use to understand why people love to pair apple with pork chop, probably because it sounds odd to pair sweet with savoury. However, I wanted to give it a try just for the experience of it, so I made this southern style fried pork chop biscuit sandwich with spiced apple. For me, trying new things are must in my life, same old same old does not sound good to me, lol!

I have to say that I am so glad that I tried as it's unusually great - one of my best sandwiches honestly if you asked me! Although it's a lot of work, the outcome is worth it and I would make it again and again.

For the Spiced Apples:
I combined chopped apple with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and boiled with water in pot.

For the Fried Pork Chop:
I pounded the pork chop, then let them sit in butter milk for awhile. Then, dipped in potato flour mixed with different spices such as chili powder, garlic powder, thyme and etc. I then fried in hot oil and seasoned with salt when it's done.

For the Biscuit:
I combined gluten free flour with baking powder, soda as well as cream. Formed into biscuits and brushed with melted butter. Baked in oven at high temperature.

For the Sandwich:
I split the biscuit in half, melted cheddar cheese on top of the bottom biscuit. Added fried southern pork chop and spiced apple on top. I also paired the sandwich with a light salad on the side.

This concludes my apple sandwich series for the week. As always, it was a fun experience and I can't wait to make more sandwiches next week!
