SteemitSandwichContest Week#36 - Pepper Pizza Avo Sandwich
My favourite time of the week is here again, this time posting my first entry for @jaybird's awesome fun-filled Steemit Sandwich Contest Week #36.
The contest has been hotting up with some amazing entries and I'm running out of ideas for a novel sandwich, so yesterday when I checked the pantry for some inspiration, it dawned on me that I had not made a Pizza Sandwich before.
I made two small Pizzas and sandwiched them with lovely buttery Avocado, the last of the season I am told by our friend who has a fruitful tree and shares his avocados with us.

So without further ado, here are the ingredients required:
I made my own wholemeal pizza dough, much healthier and has a nice nutty taste.
Whilst the dough was proving, I made a Tomato & Onion sauce, added Garlic, Ginger & Coriander Paste, Origano, sweet Basil, seasoned it to taste and left it to cool down a little before use.
I cut two bell pepper rounds and placed them on a buttered baking sheet.
Pinched off two small pieces of pizza dough and placed them inside the pepper rounds.
A generous amount of Tomato & Onion sauce was placed on top of dough.
Grated cheese on top of that.
Diced Bacon on top of the cheese.
Topped this all with an extra helping of grated Cheese.
Baked at 190 C in fan oven (or 200 C in regular oven) till bacon was crispy and pizza had a nice golden topping.
First Pizza round as base of Sandwich, with creamy buttery Avocado filling, seasoned to taste.
Sealed the sandwich with the second Pizza round.
My proof photo - apologies for my sign not being too clear, but can be read when zooming in!

Your hubby is a lucky man! Love the idea of the pepper ring. Great ingredients. I think I can taste it...wish I could taste it! LOL! Good luck my friend.
Thanks @tesscooks4u, really appreciate your great comments! I always love peppers in pizza, enjoyed making and eating this one :)
Wow @lizelle, that looks beyond amazing! My mouth is watering and I'm not even looking at the pictures anymore :D
Thank you @honeydue, so nice seeing you again! It was really delicious ;)
Wow this is probably among your most interesting and well put together Sandwiches IMO.
I really like all the homemade aspects of course (such as the dough and tomato/onions sauce), however, in particular I also enjoyed the "stuffed" pepper dough approach you used.
Great selection of ingredients on the whole as well, avo & bacon are always pluses :)
Fine work!
Thank you so much for your great comments @jaybird, I really enjoyed putting this one together plus it was a delicious combination! Apt description stuffed pepper dough :)
