Steemit Sandwich Contest Week #40 - Cachapas
Hello everyone. Welcome to my post. Today I bring you a dish that is well known in my country, Venezuela. It's about the cachapas. It is a kind of tortilla made from a mixture of tender corn (jojoto). The jojoto is ground and cooked in a frying pan or flat tray. After it is ready on both sides, it is filled with different cheeses, depending on the taste of the person preparing it. It is usually used a homemade cheese called hand cheese. It is also commonly used ham.

The jojoto sounds interesting and very tasty. Love the sandwich and creation. Good luck.
Thank you very much. The jojoto is part of our indigenous cultural heritage. We use corn as Europeans use wheat. Very tasty dishes are made. I invite you to experiment with this ingredient and make cachapas or arepas.
Mmm tender ground corn sounds pretty interesting. I apprecited the sausage decoration lol.
Nice nice job with the hand cheese too ;)
For Latin Americans, corn is like wheat for Europeans. The variety of dishes in the region based on corn is large in the region. I invite you to try these recipes so that you discover a new variety of flavors that will leave you amazed.
