There were a few Contestants worthy of recognition! In fact, I really cannot convey just how difficult it has been to choose winners these last few weeks!! There are always multiple entries pitted against each other for every winners spot including the SSC Outstanding Achievement Awards and it's continually a painful process picking 1 over the other(s).

2. I wonder if anyone is surprised by this win for this week....? Judging by the comments left on her entry I really think not. What a wonderful piece of sandwich art and the taste combinations of this one looks to be well thought out. It's visually stunning, but that's not all.

3. Great choice ingredients (from left overs too!) from bulgogi chicken, Sauce and Kimchi to the simple white bread (for optimal grill marks i assume) as well as Muenster Cheese. Add mayo for that little bit of moisture. Simple yet extremely effective and none of the ingredients seem like they'd interfere flavour-wise or at least as far as as can tell. Cucumbers were a nice refreshing side to combat any spicy or overt sweetness.

4. All and all, short and sweet & a great entry!

1. What can I say, out of his like 11 entries (might have been 5..) two of them really stuck out to me as far as this particular participant goes. @saimondonato has been around for SSC for a while and in the past couple weeks he has really elevated. This one may have been his most artisan work thus far. I really appreciated the heavy avocado use and the visual swirl aesthetic.

2. Keeping it simple (like a classic tuna sandwich) Some tomatoes and bread accompanied the main tuna experience.

3. Good pres in this one, entry was short and sweet as well. Nice effort on some of your other entries as well.

Featured Entries: (I will for the most part only be featuring the "Outstanding Achievement" winning entries in this section)

@lizelle - I probably don't even need to say anything about this one. In many ways it speak for itself lol... a true tribute to this beloved contest and to the people who participate in it! Thank you Lizelle for the cheese cut outs :)

@homecook - Visually Stunning, simple as all and extremely appetizing. This cultural gem of a cucumber sandwich looks dam refreshing and like a piece of fine English art. Great array of spices in the egg salad and of course the fresh chives!

@andreipopa - Yet another interesting creation from him. In particular I appreciated the Seaweed, Salami & Japanese style rolled omelet combination. Visually awesome as well. In the past few weeks he's been upping his game, so look out!

@street.yoga - I wanted to highlight this entry mainly bc our veto voter (having his hands full looking at entries managed to produce this gem). Really dug the mushroom explosion of this piece. Great pres too!

SELECTING WINNERS!

1. @jaybird: I select the winners based on a variety of parameters. Just do your thing and have fun with it. I'm considering many factors such as presentation, ingredients & originality, creativity, community opinion & artistic ability just to name a few. PLEASE make sure to follow the rules! They are easy to follow and help prevent the tragedy of Null entries!

2. There are now 6 prizes. First Prize = roughly 50% of the prize pool

3. Second Prize dubbed the "Veto Vote" = roughly 30% of the prize pool + the honour of selecting the following weeks second prize winner. This prize is ideally given to an entry that although it did not win the contest, showed distinction among all the other entries. This could be a feature such as it was the community favourite, it used the most bizarre ingredients, or, it was just the best looking sandwich etc. IMPORTANT! The "Veto Vote" holder may not vote on his or her own sandwich to be selected as the second prize. However, they are still eligible to win First Prize should they enter the contest that week.

4. Third Prize will be roughly 15% of the prize pool

5. Roughly 5% of the pool goes towards the "Outstanding Achievement Awards"
