My entry for this exciting Steemit Sandwich Contest, kindly hosted as always, @jaybird. Thanks for your great contest.
Love participating in this contest that is ever so popular!
Try not to miss it as it is such a lot of fun. The bread was eaten up in a flurry, while watching the royal wedding today!

Rustic Sausage, Spinach And Cheese Bread is my rendition of a few recipes, to call my own!

Tried to make some little red roses, from tomato skins, for fun!

Amazing how the bread got bigger and bigger, in the oven..we all had a good laugh!

Ingredients - for inside bread

1 kilo smoked chicken viennas sliced
Cheddar cheese grated
salt and pepper.
Pkt of cut fresh spinach/ Prepare by washing it and cooking off some of the moisture for five minutes or so in a pot. Drain in collander

Dough ingredients-
1 and half kilogram cake flour
2 sachets quick rise dry yeast
500 ml buttermilk
100 ml water
5 desert spoons sugar
Pinch salt
1egg
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
2 teaspoons mixed herbs
3 Tablespoon coconut oil
pepper

Method -

Sift flour and salt together
warm half milk sugar and water in a small pot let cool until tepid.
Sprinkle yeast on top and whisk in slightly with fork.
Let the mixture get frothy plus minus 15 minutes.
Mix this yeast mixture into flour and knead lightly, adding salt, herbs, pepper to taste.
Set aside after covering with damp cloth till risen to double in size. I put it in a warmer drawer
Punch down and knead again adding the melted coconut oil, and whisked egg.
Let rise again to double
Punch down and knead - Divide into two and keep a small section, for the plait on top.
As seen in photo, lay the one oblong of dough at bottom on baking tray
Add your spinach, sliced viennas, and cheese in layers / in this order
Cover with the second oblong shape and press together, around the sides.
Finish off with a plait on top, as seen in photo.
Make slits all around the top and finish with a brushing of egg, that has been lightly. whisked.
Let rise till double

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees centigrade for plus minus 40 minutes.

Take out oven and cool.
Slice some generous portions and plate.
Serve with avocado slices, tomato salad, lettuce and cucumber. Mayonaise on the side is a great addition.
Enjoy! :)

The buttermilk really added something wonderful, to the texture of the bread. Remember using it once, to make dinner rolls.

The yeast really went on its mission and rose to almost overflowing. Hope I am whetting your appetite, for bread making!

Well worth the effort too.

Added the mixed herbs and pepper to flour mixture

The Viennas were sliced a little bigger, as you can see in photo.

The egg wash really gave this rustic bread a lovely golden look after it came out of oven...

...as you can see here. Golden brown and ready to eat.

Try my recipe with your own twist..sometime!

Beautifully put together. That bread work is truly admirable :)

I really like the buttermilk addition and of course the other influx of ingredients sound like they've probably combined well.

I appreciate the playful tomato flowers ;)

Thank you @jaybird ..always appreciate your invaluable opinion! :)
