Steemit Sandwich Contest Week #48 | Spicy Tahini Grilled Salmon
Hello my fellow Sandwich makers! Hope you’re having a peaceful weekend.
It’s time for another rousing round of @jaybirds Steemit Sandwich Contest! It's week #48! Thanks @jaybird for hosting this contest, I know it is quite a task, but being the sandwich master you are,we all have a lot to learn from you!
Well, summer is here and for us that means time to Grill out! Mr. Bird and I love grilling, it’s so simple (and it keeps the kitchen a bit tidier right?) That is one reason we moved to a warmer climate, fresher fruits, vegetables and the ability to grill out and get out just about any day of the year. We are indeed feeling blessed.
This week I wanted to prepare a favorite that wasn’t too filling, includes healthy ingredients and something we can prepare for 2 or 20!
And, Salmon... this is light on the stomach and since I have committed to a more intentional, healthy eating and exercise lifestyle in 2018, this choice works well. I hope you'll like it!
Let’s Grill Spicy Tahini Salmon!
I used
- 1 ½ lbs fresh salmon filets
- 1 lemon (juiced)
- Sriracha sauce
- Tahini Sauce (low sodium)
- Pepper
- Olive Oil
- Maple Syrup
- 2 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
- Ciabatta Rolls
- Mayonaise
- Fresh Strawberries (sliced)
- Fresh Alfalfa Sprouts
Preparation
- I mixed all of the marinade ingredients: lemon juice, Sriracha, Tahini, Pepper, Olive Oil, Maple Syrup, and Garlic in bowl.
- Wash salmon well and place in bowl or ziplock bag. Pour marinade over fish and seal. Place in refrigerator for a couple of hours.
- Sear fish on high heat to seal then cook over medium heat roughly 4 minutes per side. Check for doneness, fish should flake easily.
Now lets Eat!
- I applied a light coating of mayo to the bread and toasted the bread lightly. Then I layered fish,then alfalfa sprouts, and top with strawberries!
And Enjoy!

What a great idea using Tahini in a marinade. That sandwich looks absolutely delicious and I love all of the flavor profiles. Nice one!

heh, normally I wouldn't think to put strawberries and Sriracha together...however it does sound like quite the combo flavour :)
