Steemit Sandwich Contest Week 45 | Bacon Wrapped Mongolian Chicken
Hello my Steemian Sandwich Foodies! This is my entry into @jaybirds 45th week of Steemit Sandwich contest!
I want to thank @jaybird for hosting this contest. He is indeed the king of sandwiches !
Today I would like to share a sandwich which I hope you all will enjoy. I’ve been a bit busy lately, traveling to my daughters home. She just gave birth to her first child. My first grandchild! I was honored to be a part of it. So back in the saddle now, ready to make sandwiches!
A Bacon Wrapped Mongolian Chicken Sandwich!
You will need:
- Chicken Thighs
- Bacon
- Mongolian Sauce
- Garlic Cloves (minced)
- Tahini
- Olive Oil
- Fresh Ginger (minced)
- Pepper
- Cabbage
- Carrots
- Mayo
- Vinegar
- Maple Syrup
- Ciabatta Roll
- Butter
Preparation
Mix Mongolian Sauce, Garlic, Tahini, Olive Oil, Fresh Ginger and Pepper together in a bowl. Wash chicken and place in a bowl, pour Mongolian mix over all. Make sure all thighs are immersed. Marinate 8 hours or overnight if you wish.
Shred cabbage and carrots. Combine mayonnaise, vinegar, maple syrup and pepper in a bowl. Mix with shredded cabbage and carrots. Refrigerate 2 hours.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Broil for 6 minutes to crisp bacon.
Toast the Ciabatta roll. Meanwhile whip Tahini sauce with butter. Spread over toasted bread.
Assembly!
Place 2 tablespoons Asian slaw on roll, top with bacon wrapped chicken, drizzle with Tahini Sauce, and

Beautiful sandwich granny bird! Sure that chicken must have been absolutely full of smoky flavours from the bacon, gorgeous tahini on gorgeous ciabatta! I just love your presentation - a little baby? LOL
