I work 20 hours per week, and I write the rest of the time. My friends and family often compliment me on my tenacity, but I tell them, "My dedication doesn't come from sheer will power or inspiration. It comes from desperation. I don't want to live in a trailer by a train track for the rest of my life, and I'm sure not getting a pension working 40 hours per week at a day job."
