Hmm, I think we'd be better of just calling out to the mermaid and seeing if she answers. It looks like another team is nearby and has the option to ambush us. I say we try our luck to get something out of the mermaid, but keep our eyes open for the ambush. Option 2 is my vote. I think calling out and drawing attention to ourselves is over with, the other team can hear us just splashing anyway.
