That's such a dramatic shot - being in black and white sure makes it more dramatic. I like how the highway department obviously left the tree along the road -- with the guardrail there. I wonder how big that tree was when the road was put in! : )
Thanks so much for the look and compliment. I'm guessing that was a small tree to start, and now they have to poodle away on it. Sad, but guess it's better than the alternative.
That tree does look vulnerable to a big windstorm, out there in the open like that. It's nice that you appreciated this one while it is around!
It was vulnerable, with no wind break from other trees. But it was rather large, and no branches to gather wind. So we can hope it stays up.
Let's hope there's no ice storm, for starters!
