Steemit Photo Challenge #39 - Pandanus mat rolls

This is a rolled-up mat, made of woven sea pandan leaves Pandanus odorifer, with an interesting plaid display, part of Acehnese handicrafts to fill leisure time in the villages.

I've seen the process of making this mat when I was a kid, here are some of the manufacturing processes I remember.

Pandan leaves cleaned and split lengthwise according to the groove with the same size, then boiled with hot water and then dried in the hot sun to dry. Color variations are given by immersion in a liquid dye that is cooked.
