WW2 search team member's hand - SteemitPhotoChallenge #13 Entry 1

in #steemitphotochallenge8 years ago (edited)

It is the hand of Andrei (call sign "Shugart"), my friend. We are members of the Russian search party "Union", looking for the soldiers, who missed during the Second World War, and we are trying to establish their names. The photo was taken at the time of departure to the place of the fall of the Soviet aircraft, attack aircraft IL-2.

Look at his hands, you will not believe, but it is the hand of the scientist, who spends all his free time in the woods and swamps in search of people, whose children and grandchildren are still waiting them from the war. He is not afraid to get dirty, and does everything in his power to return the names of the fallen heroes.

I participate in the contest Steemit Photo Challenge #13.

Thank you for the story and background. This is image makes me want to pick up my camera. Inspirational, nice work.

Thanks you for good words!

I don't think people realize how good this photo is. Resteemed

Tastes differ.
Some people tend to forget that the war was, for them it is an internal taboo.
And I believe that we need to remind and talk about what it was that had the war not happen again!

I agree 100%. Well said.

A moving photo and story, and a great cause. MIA warriors are sometimes worse than those KIA. Families need closure. It's hard not knowing what happened to your loved one, and it's great that this selfless, and tireless effort to bring that closure to those families exists.

There are a lot of enthusiasts, people who are well aware of the history, which are ready to invest money and effort to search for the missing men.

excellent photography congratulations. thanks for your time to devote to visit my post
