Steemit Photo Challenge 48 - Macro II - Entry 1 - Salticidae
Recently I've been experimenting using a hand held, off camera flash. Using a powerful source of light, I can stop down the aperture of the lens and get greater depth of field, allowing for more of the subject to be in sharp focus.
It can be a bit awkward holding the flash in one hand and operating the camera in the other, while lying on the floor, but it does allow me to chase these little guys (well, this one is a girl) around when they come to visit in the living room. If I remember correctly it's on the door!

This species's male is much darker with white patches on its palps, the palps are also larger and used to signal other spiders, to appeal to the females and to display strength to other male spiders.

Yeah, some days it seems you can never find the spider, butterfly, or snail that you're looking for!
There's still time, I'm sure you'll be able to find something.

Indeed, jumping spiders have the most charismatic eyes!
And they are not that shy to pose i've heard so far :)
