SteemitPhotoChallenge #29 - Entry 2: Sand lizard (Lacerta agilis) and some additional information about this animal

I was walking with my dog yesterday in the early afternoon.

We went trough the underbush and karst then we found ourselves in the place where someone probably unloaded the truck full of construction waste. Someone probably renewed his bathroom and just threw all of the waste right here!

And I didn't even hope to see this little lizard here. Not in this time of the year. But this winter is not a winter at all, we screwed up the climate and now we can expect to see unusual things every day.

Or this lizard showed up just because he/she knew about #steemitphotochallenge and tried to help me :)... Who knows...

ANYWAY, THIS IS WHERE I FOUND IT (THIS PHOTO IS NOT AN ENTRY FOR #steemitphotochallenge, YOU'LL HAVE TO SCROLL A LITTLE BIT MORE FOR THAT):

Few things about the sand lizard...

This freak lives in the whole Europe and in the western parts of Asia. The male has finer markings and his skin can turn green so, this one is possibly a male one. It can reach up to 25 centimeters in length. It has several subspecies but they all like the sun very much. They are not dangerous or something and in Dalmatia, you can really see a lot of them in the summer. It can pop off it's own tail when it is in danger, and the new tail will grow up fast. In many countries, this reptile is protected by the law but we have too many of them. That's why we don't call it the sand lizard. We say only lizard.
