Serednyansky castle located in the western part of the village Seredne, in the Transcarpathian region. Unlike many other fortifications, the place of its construction was not the hill and flat terrain. As evidenced by numerous studies, it was built at the turn of 12-13 century. Today the legendary Serednyanskogo castle ruins were only a quadrangular tower. Its front surface is made up of large and small clutches, well polished stones. In the olden days the tower consisted of three storeys and is 20 meters. The wall thickness ranged from 2.5 to 3 meters. The castle was built by the Knights Templar and their appearance is very much like the Roman border watchtowers. With the help of these castles in 12-15 centuries, Templar control of the situation on the salt road which lay of the Transcarpathian region in Europe. Legend of the existence of numerous underground passages, as it turned out, was not an invention. Over time, they began to be used as wine cellars. After the Order of the Templars was abolished, the castle for a short period became the property of the monastic Order of St. Paul. After that, he has several times changed its owners, each time changing both externally and internally. During the anti-Habsburg movement nobles of Hungary Serednyansky castle was in the middle of the action. It was badly damaged and subsequently no longer restored.
